"...far from the madding crowd where luxury and adventure combine to reward the fortunate few."

minette bay lodge kitimat bc

Minette Bay Lodge, the most traditional and comfortable lodge in remote Northern BC, is nestled beneath towering coastal mountains and secluded in forested wilderness on the shores of the pristine Douglas Channel, not far from Kitimat.

Come and enjoy complete relaxation and scrumptious fare in the lodge's old world atmosphere. Cosset yourself among antiques, crackling open fires and chintz comfort with French windows and lawns to the sea.

Spend an idle moment in your teak steamer chair on the veranda, gazing at soaring eagles, our resident Osprey, beached seals or the occasional passing moose or grizzly. And at the end of the day, after a magnificent dinner, drift away on your feather bed into the northern night.

Join our thrilling helicopter and jet boat adventure program and enjoy a day's heli flyfishing on the coastal range's legendary salmon and steelhead rivers, a day saltwater fishing for salmon, halibut or crab, stopping for a soak in one of many natural hotsprings.

Our experienced guide can take you by jet boat to see North America's largest carnivore, the grizzly bear, or it's rare cousin, the Kermodei or spirit bear. These fascinating bears can produce black or white offspring, and native folklore has it that the sighting of one of these elusive and breathtaking bears brings good fortune.

Explore the grandeur of The Great Bear Rainforest, the world's largest virgin temperate coastal watershed. Soar in a helicopter over icy blue glaciers and snowcapped peaks on your way to a spectacular day's hike in the alpine meadows, or glide quietly and effortlessly in your kayak through tidal waters among seals, otters, herons, and clouds of migrating Canadian geese.
